Description
1930s Mahogany Atlas Furniture (1871-1941) dresser with “artsy pink” sides/details, cream drawer sides, crystal knobs, and white drawer liners. This special dresser has been stripped down and re-coated with a light gloss to showcase its original beauty and grain. Mahogany wood is/was imported from Central America (where it is usually illegally harvested). The United States imports 90% of mahogany from Peru, Dominican Republic, and other central americas. As of 2000 Brazil no longer participates in the mahogany trade as it is completely illegal there now. It’s a beautiful wood and a bit tricky to work with. Flip through pics to see it’s original condition. H 48”, D 19”, W 30.5” -Atlas furniture was located in Jamestown, NY which was 100% employee owned during the national depression. Their furniture is made entirely by hand.
