In 1911, he also acquired Phoenix Furniture Company and in 1919, he consolidated Royal and Phoenix into his new Robert W. Irwin Co (1(contact info removed)). Irwin specialized in the manufacture of dining room, living room, library and bedroom furniture "for persons of wealth, who wish a most distinguished home culture and refinement above reproach". The furniture was expensive because of the amount of hand-painted decoration, marquetry, custom fabrics and imported woods used. Most production was in period revival styles, including Colonial, Sheraton, Duncan Phyfe, Chippendale, Hepplewhite, Adam, Spanish and Italian Renaissance.
