EXCEPTIONAL ANTIQUE ASIAN FIGURATIVE TABLE LAMP BY REVERED INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN ITALIAN SCULPTOR MARCELLO FANTONI. (Italian 1(contact info removed)). THIS WORK IS COMPRISED OF A CHINESE MING DYNASTY EMPEROR BRILLIANTLY RENDERED IN YELLOW CRACKLE GLAZED CERAMIC. HE’S DEPICTED IN A CLASSIC POSE WITH ARM EXTENDED. UNFORTUNATELY HIS THUMB IS BROKEN ON HIS LEFT HAND. IT DOES NOT DETRACT FROM ITS BEAUTY IN ANY WAY. IT IS SIGNED BY FANTONI ON THE BOTTOM. MADE IN ITALY. CIRCA 1950s. WORK GREAT. DIMENSIONS INCLUDING THE FENNEL: 38”H x 8”W Marcello Fantoni (1(contact info removed)) was active/lived in Italy. Marcello Fantoni is known for Sculpture, sculpture, ceramics, metalwork, multimedia. Marcello Fantoni was born in 1915 and died in 2011. Marcello Fantoni was a Florentine artist who specialized in ceramics. He studied at the Art Institute in Florence, where Libero Andreotti and Bruno Innocenti were his sculpting professors and Gianni Vagnetti was his figurative art professor. Fantoni began to work as a ceramist in 1934, opening his factory in 1936. After the Second World War, he became very successful, and his works are held in some of the world's most important museums. With a vast career in the arts showcasing his talent in sculpture, ceramics, metalwork, multi-media and even designer, Marcello Fantoni's work was exhibited in the MoMA New York; Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York; Brooklyn Museum; Museum of Fine Art of Boston; Victoria and Albert Museum of London; Royal Scottish Museum of Edinburg; Museums of Modern Art of Tokyo and Kyoto; International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza; National Bargello Museum; and Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe of the Uffizi in Florence.
