This beautiful pair of vintage Dalquist DQ-10 Loudspeakers are available for purchase These are marked "1980" on the masonite bass driver front rings (See pics) Sequential Serial Numbers: 41168 and 41169 This is the factory Mirror-Imaged model range with dedicated LEFT and RIGHT speakers that are factory labeled as such. The crossovers are original and include the upgraded Polypropylene Capacitors which are labeled "Dalquist". This is an improvement over the materials used in earlier versions by Dalquist, which are much more susceptible to degradation over time. One of the crossover's capacitors show some fading of the yellow color on the capacitors from presumably being positioned near a window. The difference in brightness of the yellow color can be see in the pictures. All drivers are original and free of damage (There is one smaller driver that has a small dimple in the dust cover) The Bass drivers are factory original and appear to have had the surrounds replaced, which was done in the correct "Reverse configuration" like the originals. The wood elements of the grills have been refinished in a dark walnut. The grill cloths have been replaced with a black, high quality, dual layer, acoustically transparent mesh cloth that is very similar to the original. The "Dalquist" badges are original. The main cabinets have been recovered in a black faux-leather texture adhesive veneer. The original tempered hardboard panel that held one of the drivers was slightly warped, so it was replaced with a matching masonite material panel and covered in a satin black vinyl (the vinyl is purely a unique visual element). The mounting rivets were upgraded to stainless steel during the installation of the panels. The 3ea foam protective spacers (around the front of the bass drivers) were replaced on each speaker. Many of the fasteners were upgraded to stainless steel as well. 4ea, 8" black satin colored, steel legs were installed on the bottom of each cabinet to raise them off of the floor, and were arranged to keep the speakers on a slight angle. They can easily be removed if desired (4ea standard wood screws attach each leg). The speakers sound fantastic, and there is plenty of information online regarding their unique place in the world of vintage hifi audio. They do require lots of clean power, good placement, and a larger space to sound their best. Please see all of the pictures in detail. Ask questions and I will do my best to answer them.
