1979 Fender "Stratocaster Antigua" Antigua finish appeared in the late 70s as a new custom color for Fender. Originally, this color was used on the Coronado series of semi-acoustic models and acoustic models released in the late 60s, but in the late 70s, it was introduced to many models, including the Stratocaster. The burst finish, which covers the outer edge of the white finish with gray, is a unique and very tasteful finish. It has been rarely played or even taken out of the case over that time and has spent majority of time stored safely in the original case, which is included. My father purchased this beautiful classic Fender Strat brand new in 1979. As an amateur guitarist he Played it only occasionally for next 10 years or so. And for the last 35 years it has mostly been stored away carefully in its original case and only taken out on occasion and very rarely actually played. After my father passed in 2023 in was passed down to me and has not been played at all , since I do not play. I’ve seen many currently selling from around $4k - $5k , depending on condition. **It is in mint condition , honestly I’ve yet to find one in better condition for sale.
