Description

This pitcher and basin set is from the late 1950’s. The pitcher measures approximately 7” tall x 6” wide (including handle) x 4 1/4” wide (not including the handle.) The basin measures approximately 7 3/4” long (handle to handle) x 6” wide by 1 1/2” tall. Features an embossed detailed Country scene, in delft production style, on all sides. Textured dark brown and ivory colors. There is a lot of activity in the scene - horses, chickens, farmers, children, dogs etc. The pitcher has a very ornate handle design that compliments the scene very well. The basin also features an attractive, matching pattern. Undersides of both basin and pitcher indicate made in Japan. Glazed, glossy finish. This set is very nice and attractive. Perfect for use or for display. No chips, paint loss or repairs. There is, however, extensive crazing on both the pitcher and the bowl. More so on the underside of the bowl. Not deep and certainly does not prevent the set from being used, if desired. Very clean. Cash only. Pickup in New Hyde Park, Nassau County, Long Island.
