Description

Overview: Up for sale is an impressive and realistic sculpture by renowned Western artist, Daniel Monfort. Monfort was born in 1942 and rose to prominence as as detailed sculpture adept at portraying figures of the Old West. His sculptures are hydrostone castings, using hardened gypsum to maintain exquisite detail. This piece depicts the very famous "End of the Trail" scene of a Native American slumped over his horse after a long ride or battle. It is a scene made popular by Frederick Remington. The piece is signed, dated 1982 and titled "End of the Trail" on the base. I love the detail. A really incredible piece. Condition: Sculpture is in very good condition. It has a number of minor instances of paint loss, as pictured. Measurements: Sculpture measures approximately 11.75 inches high. Base is approximately 10.5 inches wide x 5 inches deep. It is heavy, weighing almost 9 pounds.
