Style & Construction • The form is that of a ladies’ writing desk / vanity hybrid, with a slanted writing surface that lifts to reveal a mirror — a feature common in European and Colonial pieces from the late 19th to early 20th century. 1920s–1930s, during the height of Spanish Colonial Revival style, which was very popular in California, the American Southwest, and Mexico. It blends traditional European forms (like the slant-front desk and vanity mirror) with bold, hand-painted folk designs
