Red Wing Norway Moc Toe 8209 Boots, Size 9, Limited Edition

I do love these boots, but I decided that I am not a red boot guy. I am sticking with black and brown. These will be perfect for winter here in the Northwest. They are factory seconds, but I couldn't tell why when I bought them. They come with the original laces and the leather two tone ones that are currently on the boots. Here is some information from the Red Wing website, though they are no longer being sold there. The limited edition 8209 Norway Moc can be interpreted as an exemplary model of an extremely high-performance winter boot and the idea for this boot was developed in close collaboration with the American design team and the Norwegian sales team. The objective was a Moc Toe whose primary area of use is the deepest of winter in combination with snow and ice, where it performs optimally in terms of slip resistance, stability and comfort. This is how the 8209 Norway Moc was born. The Roughneck silhouette was chosen as the basic shape, but this is supplemented by a number of technical features that have been altered. On the one hand, the used "Water-Resistant" Oro-Russet Taos leather impresses with its waterproof properties, as the name suggests. Secondly, the 8209 has a Vibram TC4+ sole, which offers maximum traction even on ice & snow. The sole is attached with a so-called "Norwegian Storm Welt", which has a slight elevation to the upper leather and is therefore, like the upper leather itself, waterproof. Lastly, the Red Wing Shoe Company has decided to incorporate a leather insole covered with Poron, which provides a high level of comfort from the very first wear and takes far less time to break in than the conventional, simple leather insole.
