TOA 38 SD Two (one-pair) TOA Model 38-SD 360 Watt 8 Ohm 15" Speakers. Made in Japan Everything functions perfectly. Easy to carry side mounted recessed handles in perfect condition. Some cosmetic wear but is fully operational and sounds absolutely great. Metal grills in perfect condition that protect the loudspeakers. Interlocking corners for easy vertical stacking. The built-in flange stand mounting adapter allow for use with stands or stacking. All ¼ inch jacks, corners, handles, drivers, grill, etc. are in excellent condition. 3-way speaker system with one 15" (38-SD) loudspeaker, a radial horn coupled with high efficient compression driver and two high performance tweeters. They’re designed to be used as full range systems, but can easily be bi-amplified with 1/4" phone jacks seen in photos. Truthfully they have strong clean bass without distortion or need for subs. Ideal for any sound reinforcement from small venues to large catering halls as well as outdoor applications. These speakers have incredible sound and I would compare them with many top of the line, very expensive, speakers (Believe me, I have experience with many different ones). My setup as a solo performer was two keyboards, vocals, drum machine and left hand bass. These speakers reproduced all synth patches perfectly including horns, strings, pianos, organs, guitars and all drum/rhythm machine sounds from bass, toms, snare to high hat, bell, tambourine, etc. I performed mostly live, but on rare occasions I DJ’d and sometimes a karaoke gig. These speakers were perfect for those jobs as well. Both cabinets are in good condition. They have some surface scratches, but no major dings, dents, or cracks. They can easily be touched up. Both 15 inch speakers are in excellent working order and the all components are fully functional and in excellent condition. There is also an adjustable volume control (on rear) for the high end driver and horn. (Essentially this control on the back adjusts - cuts down or raises - mid levels. The setting I used (in photos) I found to more easily create a warmer sound for vocals and synths sounds after EQing. I’m selling these speakers and a TOA MX-104 mixer separately in another ad. The speakers, although in good shape and function perfectly, were used for gigs such as weddings, anniversaries, restaurants, pubs, etc. The mixer was only used in my home studio and never “on the road”. This (the difference in condition) is why I’m selling them separately although I can do something with regard to the price if someone was to purchase the speakers and mixer. Both items are fully tested.
