Up for consideration is this 1930's Toby Jug, made by Royal Doulton, depicting John Peel. John Peel was a 'huntsman'. His fame became known by the name of a nursery rhyme written during the 16th century. It is reputed that, John Peel's friend, William Woodcock Graves, altered the Rhyme to suit the characteristics of his friend. Dimensions: 6cm tall x 5cm from front of hat to handle. Miniature Toby jug. The name John Peel surrounds the base of the jug.
