In very good condition, it measures approx. 8 1/2" high by 7" wide , and is marked on the bottom as shown. "Cordey China Co. was a small operation founded in 1942 in Flemington, NJ by Polish immigrant Boleslaw Cybis. The company subsequently moved to Trenton NJ. Production continued into the 1950's. Cordey works were characterized by old world charm with delicate applications, and were meant to be treasured. Cordey China Company produced pottery birds in Trenton, N.J. starting about 1940 under the direction of Bolesaw Cybis, a Polish artist. Cybis developed "papka," a combination of porcelain ash and New Jersey clay used to make details on Cordey figurines. Cybis left Cordey to develop Cybis porcelains.
