Description
Super cool vintage Bundy Special alto saxophone from 1962. This horn is a rarity - engraved Bundy Special, H&A Selmer, Inc. but produced by H. Couf/Keilwerth. That's brands from 3 different countries! Needless to say, this horn is a totally different animal from most Bundy saxophones, which are best known as an affordable and dependable U.S.-made beginner saxophone. German wind instrument manufacturers H. Couf and Keilwerth (who merged sometime in the 60s) have produced some of the world's finest saxophones and sneakily did so with the Bundy Special altos, which resemble their Superba model saxophones. This particular one is in great shape including the original thick plastic pants guard, with signs of wear on the left side of the bell and the nickel key touches throughout and an evident resolder on the octave brace. It plays great on newer pads with the big, round sound associated with these German horns, and certainly outperforms its understated appearance! This would be a great instrument for any serious player, or an affordable foray into the couf/keilwerth horns if you're curious about them. Comes in a large but sturdy Pro-Tec International case with included clarinet case/compartment. If you're looking for musical instruments, check out my other listings too!
