Vintage c. 1940’s Working Surgical Light/ Medical Floor Lamp - Wilmot Castle Company

This remarkable portable surgery or operating room floor lamp has a round weighted aluminum covered cast iron base for reinforced support. The base conceals swivel castors which allow the piece to be effortlessly moved. The lamp arm has multiple rotations and angle adjustments for precise head placement. The light source is surrounded by multi-faceted reflectors to reduce shadows and focus light. The lamp may reach a height of over 7’. The base is approximately 24” in diameter. The reflector shade is approximately 17” in diameter and extends approximately 20” from the vertical support. The lamp was manufactured by the Wilmot Castle Company of Rochester, New York. The overall condition is exceptional. The lamp is fully operational and has been re-wired to meets modern code requirements. This rare and unique piece is certain to become an cherished addition to the home decor of one lucky person. I acquired the piece 10 years ago and I am only selling it due to an impending international relocation.
