I seem to have lost the key to open up the bottom to put the pendulum inside. I took the pendulum out when I moved. I grew up with this clock in my home and it worked and used to chime on the hour. It is early 20th century 1930s. Pick up at storage unit on Highway 69 Stromberg Electric Co., based in Chicago, produced high-quality grandfather clocks, notably Models 40 and 45, in the early 20th century. Known for precision master clocks with mercury pendulums and electric winding, these oak-cased clocks, around 59-64 inches tall, featured white faces with Roman numerals and were used in institutional settings.
