Description

This is an early 20th century Chinese Tibetan silver bar or waist tag. The piece weighs approximately 4oz and depicts a scene with Guanyin (also known as Quan Yin) and a boy, and the characters "童子拜觀音" (Tóngzǐ bài Guānyīn), meaning "Boy worshiping Guanyin." Tibetan silver, as seen in this art bar/waist tag, is a white metal alloy and is not quite to the standard of sterling silver; and is considered a collectible item for its artistic and cultural value.
