Description

RARE FIND -- Dreamsicle Cherub Angel Baby, Shelf Sitter, Kristin Haynes, 1990s Collectible Vintage Cast Art Signed - Kristin '93 (by the artist, Kristin Haynes) SELLING PRICE: $9/firm (significantly reduced because we need to clear out space) WIDTH: About 3 & 3/4" HEIGHT: About 5" DEPTH: About 2 & 1/2" WEIGHT: About 2 lbs COLOR: multi-color CONDITION - Overall, very good. No visible cracks or chips in the paint. ABOUT THE ARTIST (FOUND ONLINE): As a student at the University of Utah, Kristin Haynes began creating playful characters that she sold at weekend craft shows. One day, Haynes added a bright flower to one of her figures and the idea for the Dreamsicles was born. At first, all figures were crafted by Haynes and the initial range of bunnies, cherubs and other collectibles were an immediate success. Demand was so high, she was unable to keep up. She turned to Cast Art Industries, who were producing the various ranges of Dreamsicles. Individual castings, finishing and painting by hand, with natural floral decorations and subtle finishing touches, assured that no two Dreamsicles were ever exactly alike. As Kristin's sculptures continued to increase in popularity, so did membership in The Dreamsicles Club. Formed in 1993, the club was one of the fastest growing collector organizations with at one point over 110,000 members. The membership came with a Clubhouse Magazine & as an extra free gift, the Membership Kit included the first ever Dreamsicles Journal and a "Keepsake" box. In 2003 Willitts Designs acquired the brand. There is no longer an official website. . . . .
