Description

Set of 2 Antique 19th century Scandinavian Painted Folk Art Ladder Back Chairs. Simple ladder-back chairs made special with the inclusion of tall red finials and hand-painted floral motifs on the two horizontal back slats. Chairs retain their original red wash, and the seats are woven web out of raw hide. The floral painting on the back is over a layer of gesso-like material while the rest of the chairs’ color is laid directly on the wood. No damage, repairs or overpainting - completely original.
