Description
Pair of Vintage Syroco Wood Cowboy And Indian Bookends. These bookends Detail A Shooting Scene between a lone Indian on horseback shooting a rifle at a Settler by Covered Wagon.....who is firing his rifle at the Indian in return. It is a A Must Vintage Western Bookend for any Western collector. The details on the front of these bookends are amazing. There are no names or dates engraved into these bookends to distinguish who made them and where were they made. Each bookend measures 5" tall by 5" at its widest x 2.5" at its deepest. Perfect condition. Depicted here is a Plains Indian wearing a headdress, loincloth and moccasins riding his galloping horse in the foreground while having a shootout with a man who is standing in front of two "prairie schooner" covered wagons in the background, at the top. The level of detail is amazing! Neither bookend is signed... made of a mixture of wood pulp and resin that was molded to look like carved wood by a company called Syracuse Ornamental Company or Syroco.
