Akai Gx 4000d Reel To Reel Tape Player

A fully functioning Akai GX-4000d open reel tape player in good condition. Cosmetically it looks great, sounds great too with heads in alignment. Capstan could do with a replacement as there’s some scratches on it, however it doesn’t affect playback audibly. The rubber pinch roller could also do with a cleaning, replacement parts for both are readily available on places like eBay for cheap. This reel to reel functions at 2 speeds, 3.75ips and 7.5ips. There’s no speed selector switch, this tape player is designed so that the capstan has a removable “sleeve” which can come on and off to alter the speed, shown in the last few images. There’s a place to hold them Underneath the tape head cover when not in use. (7.5 sleeve one, 3.75 sleeve off)
