Railway Travel Trunk Vintage Footlocker

Vintage railroad travel trunk. Large trunk. Green and dark green with brass hardware. May have been blue originally, or as an underlayer in built up finishing process. Measures roughly 36" long, 21" wide, and 24" tall, on the outside, excluding hardware. Has old Railway Express Agency shipping labels, leather handles. Lots of scrapes, finish/paint wear, some dirt: marks from a long, useful life. No key for lock, which looks to have been forced in the past. Bottom tarpaper surface has worn through and moisture has gotten into the wood and caused delamination and warping of outer layer of plywood. Inside bottom is still in pretty good condition. No tray inside. Lid stop is broken and hinge on right side is missing a few rivets. Draw latches still work and close properly. Great for storage or decorative uses. Could be cleaned up and refurbished or leave as it is for a well-travelled appearance. Could be a foot locker, coffee table, stand (for TV, plants, lamp, other decor), or other creative uses.
