2005 Toyota Prius

Hey, folks, The time has come for us to part ways with our faithful Prius. We will be moving out of town into another chapter of our lives in a couple weeks and will, unfortunately, not be needing this vehicle. We've owned this car for about 2 1/2 years and since about 185,000 miles. It currently has 209,xxx. With the exception of right after we got it (it had been sitting for a couple years) it has never broken down or left us stranded. In the time that we've owned the car, I've been catching up on deferred maintenance items. I expected to drive this vehicle until at least 300,000, so I wanted to take care of it as best as possible. -The hybrid battery was rebuilt right before we got the car, probably around 183,000. -At 185,000, new spark plugs and 80,000 mile tires. -At 190,000, the rear brake drums and shoes were replaced, along with a brake fluid flush. -At 195,000, the HID headlights in this car were replaced with assemblies that take standard halogen bulbs. The halogens are very slightly dimmer, but will be much cheaper and simpler to replace if the bulbs ever go out. As an added bonus, the headlight assemblies are nice and clear. No yellowing plastic here! -At 196,000, the cooling system was flushed and the transaxle fluid was changed. -Regular oil changes every 5,000 miles. -New battery last fall. -At one point, the catalytic converter was stolen off of this car while it was parked outside our house. It was repaired professionally and now has a catalytic converter shield to discourage anyone from attempting to steal it again. All maintenance and repairs (with the exception of the battery that I changed last fall) have been completed at Atomic Auto here in Northeast Portland. The records are on the vehicle's Carfax report. I don't have a printed report, but I can log in to my account and show you everything. This car is twenty years old and does have cosmetic blemishes here and there consistent with its age. It won't win any beauty contests, but I did have someone say, "Nice Prius!" to me once (He had a red Prius just like it.) It's excellent for fuel economy and has plenty of space for a small car. The back seat folds down to give plenty of room for whatever you need to carry. Keyless entry makes everyday chores like grocery runs super easy. Cold AC will make this Portland summer more bearable! If you need to move more stuff around, the car also has a professionally installed tow package. The car is rated to tow a 1,500 lb. trailer. Soon after we got this Prius, we drove from Michigan to Portland with the setup in the photo, so I can say with proof that it is a sturdy little ride. It's a great little car and should serve someone very well for another 90,000 miles at least. I have a clean title in my name and I'd love to hand the vehicle off to someone else towards the end of this week or beginning of next. Reach out if you're interested in seeing this gem for yourself.
