On October 30, 2024, the original three configurations were changed to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, and 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage as the default options. All RAM and storage are "unified" onboard. The RAM and SSD can be custom configured at the time of initial system purchase, but neither the RAM nor the SSD can be upgraded subsequently. This all is tucked in a uniformly thin aluminum case with an integrated 1080p "FaceTime HD" webcam, a four-speaker sound system, Touch ID, a backlit "Magic Keyboard", a large "Force Touch" trackpad, and a high-resolution 15.3" LED-backlit 2880x1864 (224 ppi, 500 nits) "Liquid Retina" display with Wide color (P3) and True Tone technology.
