Description

Own a genuine piece of World War I history! This is an original Service Buzzer Model 1914 from the U.S. Army Signal Corps, manufactured by American Electric Co., Chicago (dated around 1918). These compact field devices were essential for trench warfare communications – functioning as both a buzzer for sending Morse code tones over wire lines and a basic telephone for voice when conditions allowed. The clever design even lets you tap the built-in key through the closed leather cover for use in mud/rain! Features: • Rugged leather-covered case with original carry strap (shows honest battlefield wear – patina from over 100 years!) • Fully intact internals: buzzer mechanism, telegraph key, switch (B for buzzer / T for talk), wiring, and battery compartment • Original instruction sheet and schematic glued inside the lid • All original hardware, rivets, and fittings – no reproductions Condition: Well-used veteran piece with scuffs, scratches, and leather wear consistent with WWI service – exactly the character collectors love. Untested (no batteries included), but appears complete and mechanically sound. Perfect for display, reenactment, or museum-quality collection. These are increasingly scarce – most surviving examples are incomplete or heavily restored. Similar complete sets have sold recently in the $300–$600+ range depending on condition. Quick Sale Price: Only $350 OBO (Priced aggressively for fast sale – comparable originals often go for much more; this one’s ready to ship before it’s gone!)
