Description
Plaid pull-out couch! $50 OBO We bought it from a family member this spring, but it’s turned out to not fit in our space. The prior owner had it in their bonus room where it didn’t get frequent use. I’m not sure how old it is or what its life was before she had it, but it seems in decent shape for how old we’re guessing it would be. THE GOOD: • Awesome vintage character!! If my apartment was bigger, I would love to keep it because I think it’s sooo charming, but we just don’t have room. • Includes a queen-sized pull-out bed and a coordinating orange flat sheet. • Overall in great shape considering assumed age! THE LESS-THAN-GOOD: • The queen mattress it comes with is 100% still functional but not very comfy just from being old as heck. I don’t know for sure but I think it’s the original mattress it came with. If intending to have guests sleep on it, I’d replace the mattress or get a nice topper to make it more comfy. • The stitching on the leather shows some normal wear and there is one small hole on a cushion (I included a picture of the hole for reference!). • Totally might be personal preference, but we think the cushions are a little too slippy slidey squishy. It could use something sturdy laid across under the cushions to make them feel a little more solid. We’ve just used cardboard under the cushions and found that sufficient, but if you want something more permanent maybe plywood or something? Or maybe there is something that exists for this specific purpose that I’m just not aware of—I’m not knowledgeable about furniture construction! • The back legs are in good shape, but it needs new front casters or legs. The front originally was on casters, but somehow it was missing one by the time it came to us. We have had it on a set we intended to be temporary until we could get better ones (you can have what we’re currently using, but they aren’t a proper fit so it will do better with some new ones). THE LOGISTICS: • Pick up only. If you don’t have a vehicle big enough, you can usually rent a truck from Home Depot for a reasonable price for just a few hours. Or try your buy nothing group to see if a neighbor would be willing to help you with a truck! • We are located in downtown Vancouver (technically on the edge of Arnada neighborhood). • We’re in an apartment building on the 3rd floor. It does have an elevator, but I’m not convinced the sofa would fit in there? Maybe vertically if we get creative. If you have furniture straps or a dolly that can help with stairs, it might be a good idea to bring or rent something. We can help move it to your vehicle if needed, but I have little noodle arms so unless my husband is available you might want to bring a friend too! lol. • We accept Venmo, CashApp, Apple Cash, or of course *actual* cash. • Comes from a pet friendly home. I’ll vacuum it for sure either way, but for $50 I’ll shampoo it for you, with enough notice for me to rent a machine. (There is no gross mess on it or anything, just could maybe use a regular maintenance cleaning, especially if you’re sensitive to cats/dogs).
