It darkens the entire image, allowing you to shoot with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required, suitable for capturing motion blur in subjects such as waterfalls, streams, waves, clouds, or any fast-moving subjects. It eliminates the need to buy many fixed ND filters, as it is designed with a built-in rotating ring that controls the neutral density ranging from ND2 to ND2000 (1 to 11 f-stops). The higher the density, the slower your shutter speed will be. When using this variable ND filter at high ND values ​​(9 f-stops or higher) on wide-angle lenses, a cross-shaped "X" pattern, vignetting, reflections, or blurring may appear in the image. This is unavoidable due to the structure and operating principle of a variable ND filter. If this is not acceptable to you, please choose a non-variable ND filter, for example, a JJC brand ND1000 10-stop fixed ND filter. The filter is made of German-made optical glass with 9 layers of anti-reflective coatings on each side (18 layers total), making the filter scratch-resistant, anti-static, oil-resistant, and water-repellent. Compatible with any lens with an 82mm diameter filter thread. This variable ND filter is double-threaded, featuring an 82mm inner thread (male) and an 86mm outer thread (female). This design allows you to attach any 86mm threaded accessories, such as a lens cap or screw-on lens hood, to the front of the filter.
