Oil Painting on canvas by June Nelson

This artwork "Seascape" c. 1980 is an oil painting on canvas by noted artist June Nelson, 20th Century. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. June Nelson was a quite a prolific painter in California through the 1960s – 1980’s. She painted mostly nautical and seascapes as her subjects. The realism of her work is stunning. She had a talent for allowing light to show through differing depths of water. She is regarded as one of the top two painters of seascapes in the world. It is so recognizable as are all Nelson paintings for the translucent quality of the waves, which seem to jump up and catch the suns glow. The foam also has a unique character in her paintings and looks so realistic. You can almost see them moving. Frame size 46x34 Painting size36x24
