Description
Before you is the Series A 31 sting harp from the Clark Music Company. This model was produced from 1911 - 1948, and thanks to the love and care of all who've owned it since, it has been remarkably preserved. This harp is small enough to be played by a child when it is standing on the floor, off the taborette. With the taborette, it can be played by anyone sitting. I bought it a couple months ago so I had a harp to practice with between lessons, and sadly, I have lost my passion for harping. There aren't any levers on the A and E strings and the strings themselves are due for replacement. I have contacted a supplier who sells a string kit specifically for the Series A, and the price is $208. I will get you in contact with her upon purchase. The strings are functional, but the color on.the C's and F's are fading and the middle octaves F is of a gauge too small. Structurally, the wood has no cracks; not on the neck, nor the soundboard. A testament to the craftsmanship of Clark Music Company. The purchase of this harp includes a tuning key, the book "Pulling Strings" by Linda Pembroke Kaiser, a book of Scottish and a book of Irish harp music, the taborette, and some Savarez replacement synthetic fiber strings of the gauges 0.5mm x2, 0.52 x3, 0.55, 0.57, 0.62 x2, 0.64, and 0.91. These strings will do in a pinch if one breaks, but I highly recommend the complete kit from Heavenly Strings.
