Description
Here’s a 1950s/60s Boosey & Hawkes “Edgwear” bass clarinet. Marked “Made in Germany” so this was made for B&H likely by Keilwerth or Kohlert. One piece ebonite body. Neck has some old patches on either side, it is air tight. Body & bell are in good shape. Overhauled a few years back & plays well. One unique feature is the double register mechanism! This is only ever found on professional instruments like Buffet & Selmer. All the clarion notes below RH 3rd finger use the lower vent, everything from there up uses an upper vent. It allows for a much better speaking clarion register. This has been used by myself for recordings & some performance but I recently acquired an old Buffet so time to move this instrument along. Case is so-so. Comes with a nice older French hard rubber mouthpiece.
