This Ardalt Japan collection includes 5 adorable kewpie characters with each playing a different musical instrument. The kewpie was created in 1909 by Rose ONeill and quickly became very popular. These figurines are from the early 1960’s and are made of high quality porcelain and finished in a beautiful beige bisque. Each piece is characterized by a large head, big eyes, chubby cheeks and a signature topknot/finger curl on the top of its head. All have light blue colored wings. Super cute. This group includes: 1. #6490B playing upright bass/cello measuring 5 1/2” tall x 2 1/2” wide 2. #6490A playing harp measuring 5 1/2” tall x 3 1/4” wide 3. #6490F playing accordion measuring 4 1/2” tall x 4” long 4. #6490E playing drum measuring 4 1/4” tall x 4 1/2” wide 5. #64900 playing mandolin measuring 4 1/2” tall x 2 1/4” wide. All measurements are approximate. All kewpies have their model numbers, with the Ardalt Japan name or insignia, stamped on the underside. Ardalt was an American Company formed in the 1940’s that imported a variety of products made in Japan. They were based in New York City. All are in excellent condition. No cracks, scratches, breaks or repairs. No fading, paint is not worn. Perfect condition. These little guys are perfect for any Kewpie collection or for any music related collection.
