EDIT 7/3/24 - SALE ON HOLD. Car is currently stripped and prepped for sand blast and primer. Will update listing when complete. UPDATE: 7/15/24 - Car has been blasted and primered. Going to be finishing the body work and painting soon. 1978 Datsun 280Z - 2.8L Fuel Injected Inline 6 with 5-speed manual transmission. Engine was removed and dismantled, inspected, then re-assembled with new gaskets and parts including: All gaskets in engine replaced New distributor New spark plugs and wires New catalytic converter and all new exhaust piping, ending in Megan Racing muffler New electrical plugs on injectors New billet fuel rail with new adjustable pressure regulator New fan clutch New radiator cap, thermostat, and metal housings Fresh coolant, oil, and trans oil Engine block, head, and oil pan painted Additional work: New fuel pump, fuel filter, & rubber lines New fuel sending unit and seal New flywheel, clutch, and pilot bearing New master and slave clutch cylinders New bearings, seals, and grease in front hubs New grease in front strut bearings KYB shocks in front and rear, removed, inspected, and reinstalled Rear differential mount rubber separated from the metal. Cleaned and reattached with construction adhesive, fully cured for 8 days. Exhaust starts with an MSA header. 2” piping routes down to a custom Y-pipe that transitions to 2.25” piping through a resonator test pipe, then out to a Megan Racing muffler in the back. OEM exhaust manifold will come with the car as well. Note: the EGR delivery pipe is broken, so that port is blocked off on the headers. Body: I've repaired several areas on the body and frame, and treated all rust with a grinder, muriatic acid, and etching primer. I am still working on the body little by little, so the ad will be updated once I am done with repair work. Most areas have already gotten Bondo. The hood was damaged in the front, and will likely need to be replaced to be perfect again. There is one area of rust on the rear of the driver frame rail I have not repaired yet. I have black primer already purchased for this car, and will be spraying it once the heat breaks. Price will increase once the car is primered, and once again when it’s painted. Price will NOT be negotiable after paint is on! This is a Black Pearl car, and it has the paint code sticker to verify this. I will be using the OEM paint code Black Pearl paint to repaint when I get to that point. I’ll also be putting on replica pinstriping. Being a Black Pearl, it's a factory A/C car. I have all the parts for it, but the condenser and lines are not installed. I tested the compressor clutch, and it does engage with 12V power, and it all spins freely. The car passed smog on Nov. 27th 2023 and got new plates and registration, so that is all current with no fees due. Title is clean, clear, and ready to transfer. I also have a full big brake and disc brake conversion kit available for sale: $800 I’m in no rush to sell. Please no MoneyGrams, PayPals, over-seas deals, or sob stories. Not interested in trades...
