Description

By the Red Wing Pottery Company, this 4 qt. casserole with warming stand was designed by Charles Murphy. Produced in 1955-56. It is part of the Smart Set line of dinnerware. Made of red clay in a high gloss finish, known for its ability to withstand high oven temperatures and distribute heat evenly. This is the largest covered casserole in this line. This casserole is in excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, dings, or dangs. Has been used for many a home cooked meal. The stand has some wear. It is missing its candle cup and its rubber foot protectors. I've used it with a simple tealight candle to substitute with success. It still displays well and doesn't distract from the display of this impressive piece. The casserole measures approximately 12.5" at handled wingspan and is approximately 5" tall.
