Description
I have here a unique player-grade vintage Gibson B-25. It was originally born as a B-25-12 in 1968, but shortly thereafter had its pickguard removed and underwent a conversion to a 6 string guitar. The neck and bridge were both swapped - the neck to a genuine Gibson neck from the same era with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and the bridge to an oversized Indian Rosewood variant. The tuners are original from the neck replacement, and serial number is stamped on the back of the headstock. If you didn't see the neck joint grafts, you'd think it was all original. The patina and finish checking looks gorgeous, and there is normal wear and tear you'd expect on a guitar of this age - pick scrapes and odd dings and scratches - but everything is solid and intact. There are no cracks in the wood anywhere. The action, intonation, and tuning on this guitar are excellent, and the frets are in good shape. It has no pickup installed but adding one would likely not devalue this guitar and make it even better for the modern player. It has been refretted and had a nut replacement once some time ago and they're all in great shape. The back and sides are made of Honduran mahogany and the top has the original finish with X-bracing. The nut width is a very comfortable 9/16". It has retained its original bridge plate. If there are any other questions feel free to ask. Willing to meet up somewhere public, like Guitar Center, to give it a proper play test.
