Yamaha C-70 Preamplifier - Fully Serviced

Yamaha C-70 Two channel analog preamplifier. - Unit was cleaned inside and out. - All of the old electrolytic capacitors were replaced with new Nichicon and Panasonic audio grade capacitors. - All potentiometers were cleaned and lubed with appropriate Deoxit cleaner and lubricant. - The input switching device was removed and thoroughly cleaned and then lubed. - A common failure point is the SW503 ALPS tone control switch. That was replaced with a highly upgraded solid state unit($100 piece). This eliminates the issue with the tone control switch and also improves the sound quality of the unit even when the tone controls are bypassed. - Several capacitors were moved to the bottom of the unit away from the main transistor heat sink to extend component longevity. - I would estimate at least 60% of the board has been reflowed. Old solder removed and new Cardas silver solder applied. - The power button LED was replaced with a new blue LED, another common failure point of these units. Needless to say, she sounds incredible. The phono preamp in these are something to behold, you can hook 4 turntables up to it at once technically. This unit works and functions without any issues whatsoever. All the work was done by me about 6 months ago, the customer upgraded to a higher end Yamaha set, and I took this back in as a trade. I can change the blue power button LED to red, orange, or any other color if desired.
