Description

19th-century French Comtoise / Morbier longcase clock case, Franche-Comté region, c. 1870–1890. Straight-sided provincial design with combed faux-bois finish and hand-detailed incised floral bouquets with raised enamel/paint centers. Retains its elongated violin-shaped pendulum viewing glass. • Condition: Case only (no movement, dial, or pendulum). Paint and decorative elements are remarkably stable and well-preserved under natural vintage aging. Very sound carcass. • Ideal for: Clock restoration, conversion into a slender curio cabinet, or French country accent. • Pickup: Local pickup only.
