Description
Price is negotiable - moving and need to sell. A little history on the bike Greeves produced several scrambles bikes, the MCS being one of the Hawkstone stable. There was the SAS and MDS which was more famous as this was ridden by Dave Bickers all over the world. The MCS was produced between 1961 and 1962 so about fifty were made but was soon replaced by the MDS which was the ultimate machine in its day The MCS had a two stage air filter which is missing from the bike you have and also the front mudguard Price new the bike was £250.00 or $335 US The bike was popular here in UK with club riders but then when Bikers won the European Championship in 60 and 61 everybody wanted the MDS Greeves was only a small company and although they had great success during the time they were around, they could never keep up with demand for the bikes. They produced I think sixty eight different models in a twenty year period so not many of each type were made. The bike you have is used in pre 65 scrambles here in UK
