Emerson’s Bromo-Seltzer USA Vintage 1940s Matchbook, Unused, Full Fascinating Fun Facts: • Bromo-Seltzer was a wildly popular “cure-all” in the early 20th century, promising relief from headaches, indigestion, hangovers, and “nervous tension.” • Its original formula contained bromides and acetanilide, both later discontinued due to toxicity—but not before it became a household name! • The bottle pictured here is cobalt blue, a color so iconic that antique Bromo-Seltzer bottles are now collectible on their own. • Emerson even built the Bromo-Seltzer Tower in Baltimore in 1911, styled after the Campanile in Florence and topped with a 51-foot bottle.
