2002 Ford Thunderbird

The car is a 2002 Ford Thunderbird roadster, with a 3.9 liter DOHC V8 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The wheels are 17" chrome cast aluminum, and this model has the optional full interior color accent package. We are older retired folks and have enjoyed the top down fun of taking this beautiful convertible to the beach and around town. For the 2002 Ford Thunderbird, the most notable rare, single-year colors were Inspiration Yellow and Thunderbird Blue. A total of 7,406 were manufactured in our color, out of a total production of 31,368 units. This is considered an eleventh generation Thunderbird, manufactured in Wixom, Michigan. It was Motor Trend's Car of the Year in 2002. The car has been very well maintained with regular oil changes and repairs as needed. We have all service records going back September 2002 to the original purchase from El Cajon Ford. Service continued at Neighborhood Car Care in Mission Viejo, and then K.O. Automotive in Lake Forest beginning in 2017, and we've continued to have it serviced at K.O. Automotive with the last service in August of 2025. New Tires were purchased in June 2024, only driven 1,750 miles since then. A new battery was installed December 2025 (2 months ago). Everything works as it should, with the exception of the CD player. It does drip a few drops of oil as might be expected from a 24 year old car, but it is not leaking oil. Oil pan gasket was replaced January 2025. The sale includes the hard top, the Ford dolly for hard top storage, the convertible top cover, the original owner's manual and window sticker, the original unused ash tray that fits into the cup holder, and two original keys with keyless entry and trunk remote control electronic fobs. And we have a car cover to included. There are a few minor dings on the body, but no dents. The odometer shows 161,000 miles. Here are the rules on test drives to project ourselves, and to be sure you're serious about this. First, we'll need to take a cell phone photo of your driver's license, and we will need to take a photo of your Certificate of Insurance, being sure the name matches on each. We'll take a photo of the license plate on the car you arrive in. And, we'll email them to ourselves so that there are copies online. If you decide to buy, you acknowledge that the vehicle is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. You will have to meet us at our local Bank of America in Murietta on Winchester and Clinton Keith/Benton road. We will need payment by Cashier's check, which guarantees funds. We will not accept a personal check nor cash. Bank of America will be able to verify the check as good. Once your check is deposited into our account and we have a receipt, we will complete the official DMV bill of Sale form (REG 135), and we will sign Certificate of Title (pink slip) in the "Signature of Registered Owner" section, fill in the buyer's information, and provide a valid odometer reading. Then we hand you the keys.
