Advent New Vision Model 500, 3 way towers. Restored. Or Best offer, particularly if paired with one of my other listings here on Offer Up. I can arrange shipping for actual cost via UPS or FedEx ground, message me for quote or use a buyer provided prepaid shipping label. Unfortunately item is too big to ship via offer up shipping program as over 18” and over 20 lbs limit. Extremely Rare pair of Advent (Jensen years) 3-way Tower speakers. Made in 1992. In excellent working condition with all new surrounds on the woofers, both midrange and internal larger bass woofer. Wood bases have been sanded, painted, wet sanded with very fine polishing sandpaper and repeated then sprayed with clear coat to protect the new finish. Crossovers were replaced due to orginal crossovers physically breaking maybe during last shipping or torqued in such a way the board failed over time. The real wood veneer was showing it is age and on closer inspection but the cabinets look great from standard viewing distance and up close but a perfectionist will see the signs of age and some scars to the bottom of the veneer. The towers oiled up nicely, and look great, and pair up nicely with the Advent Model 250 3-way bookshelf speakers appearance wise too. Advents have a pleasing sound with no listening fatigue, always considered excellent speakers for the price point, and good for all day listening. This speaker has the large 1” gen 2 fried egg style tweeter, used in many of the higher model Advents speakers like full size Graduate and Maestro models. The midrange is a carbon film covered paper cone front facing with its own air chamber and tiny port at the top front of the speaker. Inside the speaker cabinet is the bass woofer ported out to the bottom front as with it own twin air chambers for a bandpass subwoofer style design. Unique for bookshelf speakers. These Model 500 of the new speaker line “New Vision” Advent came out with during the Jensen ownership years and were only sold to the public for 2 years before Advent was aquired by new owners. They were only sold through speciality stereo shops. Another tower versions sold at the same time was the 2-way Model 350 tower (has similarities to the Advent Heritage towers) but did not have a real wood veneer but the same wood pattern vinyl as the Model 250 bookshelves that were never sold direct to the public, which is also very rare to find for sale. I never ever thought I would part with these, I restored them for my own use, wiring and mounting new crossovers, and wanting to rebuild the orginal crossovers but never found the time. But spouse says I have too much stereo equipment and speakers and some have to go. These can pair well with some of my other listings. The tops were powder coated that needed to be removed, I removed with polishing steel wool and a lot of elbow grease. Tops look great with grills on as u did get to finish complete powder coat removal behind the grill. With time I also acquired a second set of Model 500 tops with the powder coat in very good condition. The extra tops and extra grill covers you are welcome to have if you want them. I think they look better without the powder coating myself and better match the other New Vision models that were not powder coated.
