Description

Sterling Cabinet Grand upright piano, manufactured circa 1908 (plus or minus a couple of years, based on my best attempt at researching it using the serial number). The piano has been with my family since my dad purchased it in California in 1979 or so, from a man who restored pianos in our neighborhood. It has been well taken care of for the past 45+ years, moving houses a few times in the process. I played from the age of 6 (when my dad purchase it) through the end of high school, but after the need to perform in recitals and participate in National Guild auditions and the Certificate of Merit program, my will to continue practicing waned. I continued playing for personal enjoyment in the subsequent years, but that tapered off as time went on. For the past several years, the piano has resided in my mother's house, but she would like for that to change, and as I am planning to move a great distance in about a year and don't want to move it across the country, I am looking to find it a new home. I am willing to negotiate a fair and reasonable price, with only two requirements. The first is that you will be responsible for moving the piano, whether you are able to do it yourself or you hire a moving company. Perhaps most importantly, though, is that I want the piano to go to a home that will treat it with the same level of care and respect that my family has for these past 45 years. It has played an important part in my life, and I want to know that it may again be able to impact a life the way it once impacted mine. Regarding its condition, it is in overall excellent shape and sounds great. The middle muffler pedal doesn't work, but the sustain and damper pedals are perfect. There are a few minor cosmetic issues, primarily on the legs and a chip on the edge of the lid (please see photos), but the inner workings are solid and intact. It was last tuned in 2020. Please let me know if you have any questions, and if you would like to take a look at it I would be happy to set up a time to do that. Thanks for looking!
