They wanted to make their tokens gold tone to go with the Treasure Islqnd theme. This token is a rarity due to its gold tone brass color. They are still out there, but not many of them. People buy them and hold on to them. They are becoming more rare and harder to find at a cheap price. More and more collectors are hanging on to them because they are different from your silver tone gaming tokens / coins and they continue to go up in value. The token features a skull and cross-swords design, reflecting the pirate theme of the casino. The text around the edge reads "ONE DOLLAR GAMING TOKEN" and "LAS VEGAS, NEVADA".
