1857 Bishop Hill Colony Uncut Sheet No 3125

For sale a signed sheet from Bishop Hill Colony by the Western Exchange Fire and Marine Insurance Co. , dated Nov. 2, 1857. The 166 year old sheet consists of $1,$2,$3, and $5 denominations that were signed by Cashier Leroy Tuttle. Due to institutional closure and the 1857 FinancialPanic, only a small number of sheets were signed by the Cashier with the Presidents signature blank. Central vignette on this 1857 sheet is Native Americans hunting in view of passing train on the $1 and $2 notes, hunting buffalo on $3 note, and Steamship Omaha on the Missouri River on the $5 note. The Illinois Bishop Hill Colony was unsuccessful in it efforts to revive the bank and, very few notes made it into circulation especially with a signature. This sheet was mounted to a boarder and put in a picture frame years ago. The sheet was exposed to sunlight has a uniform light yellow/brown cast. This 166 year old uncut sheet has great eye appeal and is ungraded. Sale is cash only at the time of pick up at the Good Will and Dollar Tree parking lot along route 6 in Geneseo.
