Description
Up for sale is a true piece of Nikon history: the Nikon M Unsync rangefinder. 1 of only 1,600 ever made, paired with the equally rare Nikkor H.C 5cm f/2 collapsible lens in S-mount. Nikon M Unsynced - Made in 1950 in batch 2 with “Made in Occupied Japan,” marking historical significance - Leica-style shutter & hybrid Leica-Contax viewfinder - Zeiss-inspired Contax lens mount with helical focusing for 50mm lenses. Nikkor H.C 5cm f/2 - Collapsible 6-element, 3-group Sonnar design - Rare collapsible version only made for Nikon M's - Rare S-mount version that mounts on all Nikon S-mount bodies as opposed to common LTM-mount * A similar set is proudly on display in the Kodak Museum Collection at the UK’s National Media Museum. I've included this in the photos. For more info on the body and lens, resources like CameraQuest, Mike Eckman, Mir, Pacific Rim Camera, and Butkus provide excellent insights. The camera has been tested and works. I’ve left it untouched purposefully to preserve its originality. I’m not in a rush to sell and want this to go to someone who’ll truly appreciate it whether as a collector’s piece or handled with care if used.
