Originally designed as a ceiling mount, the lamp can sit on any surface as-is. Light dimensions are 23.75 x 16.5 x 11.5” HWD This 1930's interior operating room "castle light" was manufactured by the Wilmot Castle co., rochester, ny. It retains the original heat tempered, tinted glass lens designed to render colors perfectly, control the heat and distribute a deep column of focused light. The swivel and trunnion type adjustable examination lamp is comprised largely of bronze with original nickel-plated finish. The outer housing contains several circular perforations for heat ventilation. Wilmot Castle came to rochester in 1883 and began the manufacture of sheet metal specialties, his business would later become one of the largest manufacturers of sterilizers and bacteriological apparatus.
