Description

This is not a Gibson!!! I build and paint guitars on the side as a hobby. This guitar was done as an exact replica of a 1967 Gibson Flying V. It has a 2 piece mahogany body and mahogany neck. The truss rod cover and pickguard are included as are the tune o matic bridge and stop tail piece. And yes the neck does have a real truss rod. There are no tuners strap buttons or electronics included with the sale. The completed picture shown is of this exact guitar after it was completed when I tested it out. There is not one single scratch nick or ding anywhere on this guitar. The finish is mint condition. The headstock is gloss black with the famous Gibson “stinger” on the back. The neck is done in the original natural clear finish which shows the mahogany grain very nicely. The neck also has full binding and block inlays as seen in pics. The paint for the body alone was upwards of $300. It’s a true triple stage three tone candy apple red paint job. This is not burgundy sparkle or any other kind of metal flake red. The exact paint used was “Gracy’s” brand nitrocellulose paint purchased through Madison Music Store. The body was fine sanded and sealed before any painting took place. The first two coats were done with gracy’s gloss white primer and wet sanded to remove any imperfections. Next was three coats of Gracy’s metallic gold. And finally approx 4 coats of Gracy’s transparent candy apple red was applied until the correct shade was evenly acquired. Final 2000 grit wet sanding took place once again to remove any imperfections before applying the clear coat finish. Finally multiple coats of Gracy’s clear coat lacquer were applied followed by much more wet sanding to the entire guitar. Once all wet sanding was complete it was buffed out and polished to the shine that you see in the pics. You can see your reflection in the paint. This guitar is ready for your tuners electronics and a new set up and it’s ready to go. No trades please. Does not include a case. Any other questions please feel free to ask. I have a solid $800 invested in this guitar and I do this for fun. Asking price is $500 firm.
