Kaku Zulu fishing kayak. 12.5 feet long and almost 3 feet wide make for a very stable ride. I picked this model because of the open "floorplan" - a lot of the other fishing kayaks have sculpted areas for coolers and tackle that limit where you can put your stuff. The flat floorplan of the Zulu let's me put kids, dogs, and coolers anywhere I want. Factory t-tracks installed up and down both sides for customization make this even easier. Hand controlled rudder for easy turning. Peddle drive is convenient and easy - I do 2mph at a very relaxed rate but can get it to 4mph when I push it. If you want to install an electric trolling motor there are three different places you could mount it (1 in the middle where the pedal drive sits, 2 off to the side using a brace, or 3 off the back using one or more of the factory mounting points) I purchase it new 2 years ago and have had it out on the water less than 10 times. No issues and everything works great. My problem is I have a boat too and with young kids I don’t even get to go to bathroom alone let alone out on the lake by myself. So we’re in the boat way more frequently. A new Kaku Zulu with pedal drive is $2,300 delivered.
