Description

Really nice Stanley NO. 2 Type 1B "Pat Improved" Try Square w/Lead Fill ca. 1874-87. Patent date of Mary 26, 1874 is pertaining to inventor Justus Traut's method of attaching the two pieces together. The imprint indicates the two parts were welded via pouring molten lead into the recess a the juncture around the two bolts. The No 2 was re-designed to model no 12 in 1888. In excellent vintage condition.
