WHY TAHITIAN PEARL: Because Tahitian pearls are exclusive to French Polynesian waters, they are amongst the rarest and most beautiful Gems on earth AND almost impossible to fake. Almost every celebrity, Royalty and who’s who in this world flaunts their Tahitian Pearls. (See attached images). Each Tahitian pearl is unique. It takes 18-36 months for each pearl to form in Pinctada margaritifera Oyster and only less than 5% come out unblemished and these tend to be very pricey. They are labeled as AAA quality. Each Oyster needs to be cleaned once every quarter to ensure the Pearl grows properly. Next is the ones with few blemishes (may/may not be visible to the naked eye but the blemishes are there, similar to VVS and VS quality in diamonds) and these are broken down into AA+ and AA, these are the ones we deal in. Wholesale and retail. Lastly there is A quality which on closer inspection are full of blemishes. These are the low end pearls that come across as a deal online. Every now and then we come across one amongst hundreds of pearls and we keep them aside to educate public the difference between Good quality pearls and Bad quality pearls.
