Description
In near perfect condition, bought from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo Egypt. The frame measures 18x42 and it's painted on layers of papyrus. The original was found in the tomb of Itet in 1871. Itet was the wife of Prince Nefermaat, son of the 4th Dynasty Pharaoh Sneferu. It's a nice hand painted picture..however..I own a digital microscope and though it's hand painted, you can see it was first printed lightly with the outline for the artist to follow, not exactly paint-by-numbers, but close. Understandable since it was sold in the museum's gift shop and needed to be accurate. The original selling price was 1368 Egyptian pounds, whatever that converts to today.
