PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING: Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Hydrolyzed Protein HP Dry Cat Food. We have 1.5 gallon ziplock bags of unused food not even 4 months old. We don't want to throw it away, but because the bag has been opened, the vet nor the humane society will take it. This is specific to cats with food allergies, not just any cat can eat it as it's prescription only. We were told by our vet that this cannot be mixed with regular cat food or else it can mess with the cat's natural hunger response. I would appreciate if someone with a prescription bought this food so I can trust it's been used appropriately.
